COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State’s Luke Shields collected the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year honor for the second consecutive year as voted on by the league’s seven head coaches. Shields has now garnered the Coach of the Year award four times, twice while at Fresno State in 2017 and 2019.

The Broncos completed their monster of a season with a 5-1 league record and a 20-10 overall mark. They were Mountain West Regular-Season co-champions, Mountain West tournament champions and are currently ranked 58th according to the ITA.

Shields led two singles players and a doubles team to MW All-Conference honors during the 2024 season and will to lead the Broncos to the NCAA tournament, facing Arizona on Friday, May 3. Boise State’s Sam Sippel and Jip van Assendelft were also selected to compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championships in doubles play, while Sippel was also selected for singles.
